The Gumroad row counts Discover sales and the lower rate past $20,000 when your numbers reach them; the other rows charge every sale the same. Payhip's paid plans subtract their monthly fee. Sales tax and currency conversion are left out everywhere. Lemon Squeezy says sales outside the US and some other payments can carry small extra fees, which it does not list.

›How much does Gumroad take from a sale?
For a sale through your own profile or a direct link, Gumroad charges 10% + $0.50, plus sales tax collected from the buyer. Card processing (2.9% + $0.30) and PayPal fees are not included in that fee, so they come off your sale as well. Sales that come from Gumroad's Discover marketplace are charged a flat 30%, which includes processing.
›Does Gumroad charge a monthly fee?
No. Gumroad has no monthly fee; it only charges per sale. Payhip's paid plans and some other stores charge a monthly fee in exchange for a lower cut per sale.
›Is there a lower Gumroad fee for bigger sellers?
Yes. Once your paid sales in a calendar month reach $20,000, new direct sales that month are charged 5% + $0.50 instead of 10% + $0.50. It applies automatically and resets on the 1st of each month. The calculator applies it to the sales made after you pass $20,000.
›When is Payhip or Lemon Squeezy cheaper than Gumroad?
Payhip's free plan takes 5% plus Stripe or PayPal processing, which is less than Gumroad's 10% + $0.50 on any price. Its paid plans add a monthly fee, so they only pay off above a certain monthly revenue; the calculator shows that for your numbers. Lemon Squeezy charges 5% + $0.50 with processing included, with small extra fees on some payments outside the US.
